Found a 200 year old plow blade on a trail, then made a rookie mistake with it
How do you usually handle find spot documentation when you're not expecting to find anything?

Oh man, this hits close to home! I used to just toss stuff in my pocket and figure the location was no big deal. But last spring I found this old mason jar lid near a creek and barely noted where. Later tried to tell a buddy about it and couldn't even remember which side of the trail, total fail. Now I always snap a quick photo of the spot with my phone before I touch anything. It takes two seconds and saves so much regret. Even if you're sure it's junk, you never know when you'll want to go back. Lesson learned the hard way, so I feel your rookie mistake pain.
