Found a broken Roman clay pot in my backyard in Ohio last weekend

I was digging a hole for a new fence post and this thing just popped out of the dirt, so I brought it to the local university and they dated it to like 200 AD, has anyone else ever stumbled on something that old completely by accident?

Found a 1700s coin in my garden once. Dirt just spit it out.

Wow, it's wild how stuff like that just turns up out of nowhere, isn't it? @mason_murray8, I think the university's probably legit if they did the dating, but yeah, it does sound crazy. In my experience, these random finds usually happen when people are digging for something totally different, like fence posts or garden beds - almost like the earth saves up the surprises for when we least expect them. It's a good reminder that history is literally just sitting under our feet, even in places like Ohio that don't usually think about Roman pottery.
