Just heard a podcast mention the 'lost city' found in the Amazon wasn't actually lost
The host said local people knew about those ruins for generations, but archaeologists just didn't listen to them until they saw the satellite images. It made me realize how much knowledge gets ignored because it's not 'official' science yet. Has anyone else come across a find where local stories turned out to be totally right?

That's a huge problem in a lot of fields. Makes you wonder how many other sites are just local knowledge waiting for a satellite. What was the podcast called?

Wait, wasn't that the podcast about how locals already knew where everything was but nobody listened?

Was it that one with the guy who talked about the lost Amazon villages? I mean, I heard something like that where they used old stories from tribes to find ruins. Makes you wonder if we're just ignoring a ton of history because it wasn't written down.
