Pro tip: I was reading dig site stratigraphy backwards for 2 years before a field school in Ireland set me straight
I kept labeling layers from the bottom up on my section drawings because that's how the trench looked when I stood in it, and nobody caught it until a supervisor at a site near Trim asked why my "earliest" level was full of plastic. Turns out I'd been flipping the whole sequence in my notes the whole time, so my context sheets made no sense to anyone but me. How do you all keep your layer order straight when you're working a deep section, do you draw top down every time or is there a trick I'm missing?
