Question about the Roman wall section in York

I was walking near the Yorkshire Museum last weekend and noticed a part of the old Roman wall that looks like it's being damaged by modern foot traffic. The stone is visibly worn down and crumbling in a new spot. Has anyone else seen this or know if there's a preservation plan?

Ugh, that's so sad to see. They really need to put a fence or something around it before it's gone for good.

I just read they only have three of those trees left in the whole state, @kellyr20. That's wild. A fence seems like the bare minimum at this point.

Honestly, I used to think fences were overkill. Seeing how few are left totally changed my mind.
