Unpopular opinion: using a garden sieve to screen dirt at my dig site saved me 4 hours last Saturday

I was sick of picking through clay clods by hand at the Wilson Creek site, so I grabbed a cheap wire sieve from the hardware store. Has anyone else found a weird household tool that actually sped up their field work?

Sullivan Quinn, yeah, I remember one time I tried to sift clay for a pot I was making and ended up with a bucket of muddy soup because I just ran it through a window screen. Honestly, it took me three tries and a friend telling me to use a proper sieve before I realized you gotta break the clay down first. Ngl, I just gave up and bought some from the craft store after that disaster.
