Appreciation post: the shop owner in Kansas City who critiqued my necklines in front of everyone, best thing that happened to me | Barbers - Freelance Forum - The Community for Independent Professionals
I had a similar thing happen at a little boutique in my hometown years ago. The owner straight up told me the dress I was trying on made my shoulders look slumped and I needed something with a different cut. I was so embarrassed I almost cried in the fitting room. But you know what, she was right and I ended up buying a totally different style that people still compliment me on. Sometimes the brutally honest folks in those small shops know way more than the people who just tell you everything looks great so you'll buy it. Did you end up changing your whole wardrobe after she said that?
