Clipper blade slipped and gave a guy a racing stripe yesterday

I was in my chair at Frank's Barbershop on Division Street, doing a simple fade on a regular. Middle of the blade guard swap, my hand slipped and I carved a clean bald line from his temple to his crown. He jumped up and looked in the mirror, then just started laughing. I offered to fix it with a #1 all over and he went for it. Anyone else have a tool slip moment that ended up okay?

A whole racing stripe? That's a bold mistake to laugh off.

Bold mistake to laugh off" is exactly the phrase that got me thinking. I actually read a piece about this on a car blog last week, said the stripe was like a neon sign for bad decisions. But honestly, I've seen worse from people who try to fix stuff themselves with spray paint. A friend of mine messed up his truck bed liner once, ended up with something that looked like a tie-dye experiment gone wrong. So maybe the stripe is just a friendly reminder that we all make goofs sometimes, especially when we think we know better than the manual. At least it's not on the inside of the door where you'd have to stare at it every time you get in.
