Had a clipper overheat mid-fade on a regular last Tuesday
I was doing a skin fade on Mark, a guy I've cut every 3 weeks for 2 years, in my chair at Tony's shop on Main Street. Halfway through the 1-guard section, my Oster 76 started smoking and just stopped dead... smelled like burning rubber. Has anyone else had a tool crap out on them at the worst moment and how'd you handle finishing the cut?

Had a clipper overheat mid-fade" - man, that's rough. I keep a backup pair of Wahl seniors in my drawer for exactly this reason, just swap them out and finish with the guard that's still cool. Both times I had a tool die on me, I just told the client "gotta switch trimmers real quick" and they didn't even care.

Right? I had my cordless Magic Clip just die on me mid-fade once and I just grabbed my spare Oster Fast Feed out of my bag and finished up without even saying anything. Customers really don't care as long as you keep it smooth.

gotta switch trimmers real quick" - I once had a dog eat my trimmer cord right before a job.
