Heads up about the barber expo in Atlanta last weekend

I went to the big barber show in Atlanta last Saturday and some guy was pushing these cheap clipper blades for $10 a pop. I bought four and two of them were dull right out of the package. He disappeared by noon too. Stick to the vendors with a booth and a website, not random dudes with a duffel bag. Anyone else run into shady sellers at these shows?

Man, I gotta say I actually had the opposite experience at that same expo. I picked up a couple of those cheap blades from a guy near the back and they've been holding up fine after a few cuts. Maybe it's hit or miss, but I think some of the smaller sellers are just trying to get their name out there and can have good stuff for the price.

Man, I really gotta push back on that one. I mean @the_hayden, I'm glad your blades worked out, but I've had the exact opposite luck with those back-of-the-room guys. I picked up a set that looked decent at the expo, first cut on some cardboard and the edge rolled over like butter... literally useless after that. I think the big difference is consistency, you might get a good batch but most of those small sellers are just flipping factory rejects or unbranded stuff they bought in bulk. It's a gamble and I'd rather pay a few bucks more for something I know won't fail halfway through a project.

Hit or miss" is about right @the_hayden. I grabbed a cheap set from the same expo and they chipped on the first project. You got lucky but that's just not the norm with those bulk sellers.
