Hot take: feathering with texture powder saves way more time than blow drying first

I used to always blow dry the top before texturizing. Took forever. One day a guy in the shop said just hit it with texture powder dry before the shears. Tried it on a client with thick wavy hair. Cuts way cleaner and I shaved 15 minutes off the appointment. Anyone else skip the blow dryer step or am I the only one doing this?

Hell yeah, way easier. I been doing it dry for a minute now and never went back.

You ever tried doing it with a wet towel under it instead Jamesc79? My buddy swore by that method for years, said it kept the temp more even. I gave it a shot once and ended up with soggy results, so I went back to dry and never looked back either. The dry way just feels cleaner to me, no mess to deal with after.

Jana509, I used to swear by the wet towel trick myself, but after reading this I'm definitely switching to dry.
