I spent $180 on a pair of clippers that died after 4 months and went back to my old Wahl
That brushless motor hype got me, but the battery gave out mid-cut on a paying customer yesterday, so has anyone else had luck getting those companies to actually honor their warranty?

That battery gave out mid-cut on a paying customer" is basically a nightmare I feel in my bones... nothing like having a dude half-shaved and staring at you while the tool just quits. I've always said stick with the old Wahl stuff, they might not be fancy but they'll outlive your grandkids. Good luck getting that warranty honored though, those companies usually have more fine print than a car loan.

Yeah "fine print like a car loan" is spot on. I had a buddy who bought one of those fancy cordless clippers and when the battery started dying after six months, they told him it was "normal wear and tear" and not covered. He sent them a photo of the receipt and everything. They still said no. Worst part is he had to mail it in at his own cost just to get a repair estimate. That estimate was almost the same price as buying a new one. So now he just keeps his old corded Oster clipper plugged in behind the counter as a backup. It's ugly and the cord is a trip hazard but it never quits on him.

@sullivan.quinn you hit it right on the head with "more fine print than a car loan." But heres a angle nobody brings up - those warranties are actually designed to fail because the battery tech moves so fast. By the time your clipper breaks, theyve already discontinued that battery model and claim its "unavailable." I watched my buddy go through this with a high end brand. They told him the warranty covered the motor but not the battery because they called it a "consumable part." That wild, right? So now he just keeps a spare corded clipper under the counter for emergencies. Have you ever tried to fight one of those warranty claims yourself?
