Old school barber in Chicago told me to stop using clippers for beards, now I use shears only

Well I guess my beard trimmers are going to collect dust now. Told my wife she can use them on the dog since they're apparently useless for humans now. Next thing you know my barber will tell me my electric toothbrush is ruining my smile and I need to go back to a twig and some baking soda.
