Question about a crazy busy Saturday in my shop

Last Saturday we had a line out the door from open to close, and I ended up doing 28 haircuts by myself. The thing that saved me was keeping my Oster Fast Feed clippers oiled and ready to go after every single cut. What's your go-to move when you're getting slammed like that?

Man, keeping those clippers ready is key. I had a day like that last month and my saving grace was having two combs and two shears in my apron. One set could be drying from the barbicide while I used the other, no break in the rhythm. It felt like a pit stop crew just keeping the tools moving.

Actually, barbicide doesn't really dry on tools... you're supposed to wipe them dry with a clean towel right after dipping. Letting them air dry can leave a film and isn't as clean. So the backup set is smart for speed, but you still gotta wipe down the wet ones right away to keep them working right.

Honestly that sounds like overkill for a haircut. It's not open heart surgery, it's just trimming hair. Do you really need a whole backup set of tools drying like a bomb squad?

It's funny how the best systems come from being totally slammed, like you figure out what actually matters under pressure.
