Rant: Customer told me my fades were "too perfect" and it threw me off
Had a guy in my chair at the shop on 5th Street complain that his fade looked "too clean" compared to the messy look his buddies had. I spent 20 minutes fighting him on it until he pulled up a photo, and I realized he wanted a softer, more lived-in blend instead of my usual crisp line work. Since then I've started asking every client if they want a sharp or natural finish before I pick up the clippers, and it's cut down on re-dos by at least half. Anyone else run into guys who want the imperfect look on purpose?
