Read a post on here about clipper fade technique that finally clicked
Some guy was talking about how he starts his fade with the grain instead of against it. I always went right to the grain and fought with lines for 20 minutes. Tried it his way on a client this morning and the blend came together in half the time. Anybody else switch up their approach after reading something simple on here?

Honestly, "fought with lines for 20 minutes" is basically my entire Saturday routine until I saw that same post. Tried it with the grain last week and felt like I'd been doing everything backwards for years. Ngl, now I just feel bad for all the guys who got that janky blend before I wised up.

My barber finally clued me in after watching me struggle for like a year. He just grabbed the trimmer and went against the grain on my neckline and it was night and day. Took me from looking like I let a lawnmower lose on my face to actually having clean edges. Tried going sideways on my sideburns too and that smoothed out the whole mess way faster than I ever did going up and down. Still mess up my jawline sometimes if I rush though, gotta take my time on that part.
