Spent 90 minutes fighting a simple bald fade because my comb kept slipping

Was doing a quick bald fade on a regular at my shop in Austin yesterday and my cheap plastic comb just kept sliding right off his head. Took me three tries to get the blend right because I couldn't keep a clean line. Finally grabbed a new comb from my drawer and finished the whole cut in 15 minutes flat. Anybody else ever have a tool just betray you like that mid haircut?

Man, I feel this so hard! That seam line issue is a total nightmare. I had a cheap comb once that had these rough edges right where the plastic mold met, and it would just grab at the hair and make a snagging sound that drove me nuts. Switched to a metal one with a smoother finish and it feels like a whole different world now. Have you found any comb brands that don't have those annoying mold lines?

Did that cheap comb have those seam lines that snag on the hair and mess everything up?

Absolute nightmare. I bought one once and it ripped out half a strand of hair every time I tried to use it, ended up just throwing it in the trash.
