That cheap clipper blade sharpening kit on Amazon ruined two of my favorite Wahl blades before I figured out what I was doing wrong
I dropped $35 on that kit and ended up having to replace both blades for $60 total, has anyone else had better luck with a particular brand or method for sharpening at home?

You know, I actually used to think those kits were the way to go too, but after reading what you guys are saying, I'm starting to change my mind. @adam414 you're spot on about those little clamp things, I had the exact same issue where one side ended up way lower than the other and now that blade pulls like crazy.

Right, I tried one of those kits too and honestly I think they just let you wreck your own blades for a premium fee instead of paying a pro to do it for you. The problem is those little clamp things they give you don't hold the blade steady at all, so you end up taking too much metal off one side and then the other side is totally dull. I threw mine in the trash after the second blade started pulling hair instead of cutting it. You're way better off just sending them to a sharpening service for like $15 a pop, it's cheaper than replacing blades and you don't have to learn the hard way like we did.

Yeah I mean the whole thing feels like a scam for people who don't know any better. You're paying extra to mess up your own stuff basically. At least with a sharpening service you know it's done right the first time.
