Took me 3 hours to fix a fade line that kept going crooked
I was working on a regular customer yesterday and his fade line kept drifting up on the left side. I must have gone over it four times before I realized my mirror was mounted slightly crooked. Has anyone else had a simple tool or setup issue eat up way more time than the actual haircut?

Used to think crooked mirrors were just an excuse people made, but that is literally what threw me off for forty five minutes once. The human brain relies so hard on visual cues that even a tiny tilt makes your hand drift without you noticing. Now I check my station setup with a level before I even start cutting.

That crooked mirror thing is brutal. It's funny how one small thing being off can mess up everything else in your life for hours.

The thing is, what counts as a "small thing" seems to change depending on the day, right? Like sometimes I can drop my phone and it's fine, but a crooked picture frame will send me into a spiral. Have you figured out what it is about that specific tilt that gets under your skin so much? Is it the visual distortion or more like you can't trust your own perception anymore?
