A guy in Phoenix paid me $500 deposit then ghosted, now I ask for 50% upfront before any design work
Last month I met a startup founder at a coffee shop on Camelback Road. He loved my logo mockups, sent a $500 deposit through Venmo, then vanished after I sent the full brand guide. I wasted 12 hours on revisions for a guy who won't even answer his phone now. Does anyone else require half the fee before showing rough drafts, or am I being too harsh?

Wait, how long has it been since he went quiet? That is so frustrating, especially after you did all the work. I had a client pull that once, sent half up front, then went totally dark for two weeks after I finished everything. I kept checking my messages like an idiot, thinking maybe something happened to him. Then out of nowhere he popped back up with some lame excuse about being busy. Some people just don't get how stressful it is on our end when they vanish like that. Hope he comes around soon and pays up.
