So you're bringing up holiday shifts to justify a higher hourly rate, but is that actually getting you the rate you want year round or just for those specific weeks? Because I tried that angle once with a client who needed Thanksgiving coverage, and come January they wanted to drop me back down to my regular rate like the holiday premium never happened. Did you work out a permanent adjustment on the base rate, or are you just pocketing the extra for December and hoping they forget about it come February?

@angela728 reminded me of a client who once paid me extra to work Christmas then acted surprised I wanted the same rate for regular weekends.
