Heard a new freelancer at the library say they just take whatever rate is offered first
It reminded me of my first year, when I'd accept $25 an hour for anything. What's the lowest rate you ever took that you wouldn't touch now?

I charged twenty dollars for a thousand words back in 2015, @kellyallen. It felt like easy money at the time. The problem was the client expected endless rewrites for that flat fee. I finally learned to set a clear limit on revisions in my initial agreement. Now I charge per project with one round of changes included, and it saves so much headache. You have to protect your time or you end up working for pennies an hour.
