Hourly billing beat my flat rate on a kitchen remodel, and I have the receipts
I quoted a kitchen remodel in Boise two ways: flat $6,200 or $85 an hour, and the hourly job ended up making me $1,400 more because the homeowner kept adding little things. The flat rate locked me in while every extra outlet and shelf got done for free. Now I write a scope line that says out-of-scope requests get a new quote before any work starts. How do you folks handle the small add-ons that pile up mid-job?
