I used to quote flat rates over the phone until a $85 job in Grand Rapids turned into 5 hours
For the first 2 years of my cleaning business I gave people a price right when they called, and I thought I was being fast and helpful. Then a lady in Grand Rapids said her place was a "quick 2 bedroom" and it took me 5 hours because of pet hair and a fridge that hadn't been touched since spring, and I realized I was basically guessing with my own money on the line. Now I do a walkthrough or ask for photos first, but did anyone else have to get burned bad before they changed how they price?
