Mentioning my fees at the start saved me from payment mix-ups

I would wait to discuss costs until after outlining my projects, and it often caused confusion. Now, I bring up rates right away, and in my experience, it leads to smoother deals, your mileage may vary. When do you all introduce payment terms with new clients?

Nothing like getting the budget band-aid ripped off right away, saves us both the awkward dance later lol.

Upfront always... saves so much hassle. I used to hide my rates until the end, and it bit me more than once... like this one client who loved the plan but freaked at the price. Now I slide it into the first chat, maybe after the hello. It weeds out the bad fits early. Deals close faster since no one's shocked later. Just feels cleaner, you know?

Man... I get why upfront works but what do you do when they still get that sticker shock even after you say it first? Like you lead with your rate, they agree to talk, but then halfway through planning they start asking for discounts or acting like the number is new... feels like the upfront talk didn't really stick. How do you make the cost really land so it doesn't come up again later?
