Yep, that breakdown move is key. Had the same thing happen when a client finally saw the hours listed out.

On a recent website build, I broke down every task into hours. The client suddenly got why it cost so much once they saw the list. So yeah @aaronl93, that breakdown move really does work wonders.

Totally agree. Read a blog post once that called it "making the invisible visible." People just don't get what goes into the work until you show them the pieces. A big number alone can seem random or greedy. But a clear list turns it from a price tag into a story about the work. It builds trust because there's nothing to hide.
