Yeah that client overheard my rate negotiation" - I just started saying my price twice, once quiet and once loud, makes it feel more official and cuts the awkwardness.

Yeah that "feels more official" part got me. I had a guy once who repeated his price three times in a row like he was casting a spell or something. It worked though, the client just nodded and paid without asking any questions.
