Wasted $300 on a pellet smoker attachment for my gas grill
Back in 2021 I got this smoke tube and pellet box combo for my old gas grill, thought it would replace a real smoker. Let me tell you, after 6 tries of chicken and pork butt, everything tasted like burnt sawdust with a hint of propane. The thin metal box warped by the third use and pellets just smoldered wrong, no clean blue smoke ever. I finally bought a used Weber Smokey Mountain off Craigslist in Atlanta for $150 and it changed my whole weekend cook game. Has anyone else fallen for one of those gas grill smoke gadgets, or am I the only sucker here?

That burnt sawdust with propane taste is real, I ditched the gas gadget and learned charcoal snake method instead.
