Question about those new ceramic chain lubes
I was pretty sure the whole 'ceramic infused' thing was just marketing hype for a long time. Then a regular at the shop, a guy who rides 200 miles a week on gravel, swore by this one brand, Squirt. He said it lasted through a whole wet week of riding for him. I tried it on my own commuter bike as a test, running it for a full month without re-lube. The chain stayed quiet and clean way longer than my usual wet lube, even after some rain. I'm starting to think there's something to it for dry conditions. Has anyone else run a long-term test on these wax-based or ceramic lubes and seen real results?

Tried it, chain got quieter than my last date.

What did you use on it? That's a serious improvement.

Yeah, quieter than a last date is a rough spot, dakota_miller93. I feel that. Shane's66 is right though, that is a huge improvement. I used a good wax lube, the kind that comes in a bottle, not a spray. Made a real difference on the dirt around here.

Used to roll my eyes at the ceramic stuff, figured it was all hype. Squirt converted me too though, ran it a whole month on my commuter through some rain and the chain was still dead quiet.
