Rant: I was seating beads with way too much pressure for 2 years and a blown tube in Fresno tipped me off
Last week I had a 700x25 blow off the rim right in the stand at like 110 psi, and it scared the heck out of me. I've been mounting tires for 12 years, but I always cranked the compressor up thinking more air meant the bead would seat faster. Turns out I was stretching the bead and pinching tubes, and I had no clue until a guy at the shop in Fresno asked me why my regulator was set at 140. I dropped it to 90, went slow, and every tire since has popped on clean with half the noise. I'm checking every wheel I did the last 2 years for bead damage now. What psi do you all run your regulators at for road tires, or am I the only one who had this backwards?
