Ruined a whole box of shift cables by cutting them with the wrong pliers
Last month I tried trimming 6 shift cables with my regular side cutters and every single end frayed before I could get a ferrule on. What are you all using for clean cuts, or is a proper cable cutter really worth the money?

Why blame the tool? Sharp side cutters cut clean if you squeeze hard and fast.
