Vent: I finally gave up on my old cone wrench set from the 90s

I mean, I held onto those Park Tool S-2 wrenches for years because they were fine for old cup and cone hubs. But after working on a batch of newer bikes with cartridge bearings, I switched to a set of thin profile socket wrenches. The difference in grip and not rounding off those tiny locknuts is night and day, maybe it's just me but it saved a ton of frustration. Anyone else have a tool they clung to for way too long?

Ever notice how we all do this with stuff that's just "good enough"? It's not even about tools, it's about that mental block where you know something is kind of a pain, but you've made it work for so long that switching feels like admitting defeat. You finally try the new thing and it's such a relief, you almost get mad at your past self for putting up with the hassle. I swear half my garage is filled with those "good enough" items I was too stubborn to replace.

Ugh, finally buying a real can opener changed my life.

Totally feel that. My old vegetable peeler was basically a butter knife with commitment issues. It took me five years to buy a new one that actually worked. The first carrot I peeled with it was a religious experience, and I had to sit down and think about all the bad choices that led me there.
