Was skeptical about disc brake bleed kits until I ruined a Saturday with turkey basters

Tbh I thought spending $45 on a proper bleed kit from Jagwire was a waste when I could just use a syringe from the pharmacy. After spending 6 hours last Sunday fighting with a leaking caliper on my MTB and getting air bubbles everywhere, I finally caved. The kit came with the right fittings and a hose clamp that actually sealed the system. Has anyone else here tried the cheap DIY method and regretted it?

I heard some folks swear by that method after seeing it on a DIY blog.
