Hit 50 book club meetings without realizing it

We counted at the end of last month and it turned out our little group has met 50 times since 2019. That number surprised me because I still think of us as the new club that started in my living room. We had 6 people at the first meeting and now we have 14 regulars, though 3 of them have moved away and still call in. I guess my point is that milestone snuck up on me, has anyone else had a count like that just appear out of nowhere?

Fifty meetings is a solid run, no doubt about it. That sneaking up on you is the best part of a good club, when the habit just becomes part of your routine. The fact that three people still dial in from far away says a lot about the group you all built. Most clubs would have fizzled out by meeting twenty. Counting those numbers out loud can make the whole thing feel real in a way the weekly grind doesn't. Good on you for sticking with it.

Made me think of this old bowling league I was in once, we had a guy who drove an hour every Tuesday just to sit and talk about the weather... we only lasted eleven weeks before half the team moved away. That's wild you've got people still sticking it out from long distance, that's the real glue right there.
