I mean, can we stop overanalyzing every book detail in club debates?

Last meeting, we spent an hour arguing about a minor character's backstory. Idk, maybe it's just me, but that seems pointless. I joined to share fun reads, not have literature class. These intense debates are making me dread our monthly chats. Can we just enjoy the stories?

Focus on the actual story. Getting lost in tiny details misses the whole point of reading for fun. It just turns a good time into homework.

After that rain metaphor debate, what would make it fun again?

Feel exactly the same about my old club. We once spent forty minutes picking apart a metaphor for rain, and I just sat there wondering when we stopped talking about if we liked the story. It totally takes the fun out of it.

Same, those deep dives kill the vibe lol. Like @jesse_lopez14 said about the rain thing, just tell me if the book was good.
