Just realized our book club got stuck on one novel for way too much time
My book club picked 'Ulysses' as our recent book. We set a goal to finish it in a month, but it dragged on for over two months. Each meeting, we argued about the same pages without making progress. I started to feel like we were just going in circles. Does anyone else have debates that seem to never end? How do you keep your book club talks focused and moving?

See this everywhere, like @victor651 said about page limits.

Ugh, set a page limit per meeting.

Seriously, it's the only way to keep things moving. I had a meeting last week where someone brought a 20-page deck for a 30-minute slot. We spent the whole time just trying to get through the first five pages, you know? A hard limit forces people to get to the point.

How do people even think that's okay? We tried a three page max rule for our weekly check-ins. It changed everything. People actually prepare the short version instead of just dumping every slide they have. Meetings end on time now. It forces you to figure out what really matters.
