My book club went from reading 1 book a month to 3 and I miss actually talking about them
We used to pick one book, meet at the diner on 5th, and spend two hours on it. Then in January a member pushed us to add a short story plus a "classic" pick each month, and now we speed through each one in 25 minutes. Last meeting we spent more time on snacks and scheduling than on the actual chapter endings. I get why people wanted more, but I feel like I am skimming just to keep up. Has anyone found a good way to tell a group they took on too much without sounding like a grump?
