Our book club in Austin went from polite chats to a full-on food fight over 'The Goldfinch'

For the first 3 meetings, it was all 'interesting themes' and 'beautiful prose'. Then Donna said Theo should've just turned himself in after the bombing, and someone threw a cheese cube. It started a 20 minute yelling match about moral ambiguity versus plot logic. Has your group ever snapped over a character's dumb choice?

My buddy's sci-fi group in Portland had a chill vibe for years. Then during a talk about "Hyperion," Mark said the Consul's betrayal made zero sense from a military strategy view. Sarah, a huge fan, slammed her hand on the table so hard a beer bottle tipped over. They spent the next hour just yelling about character motivation versus plot holes.

Man, @julias44 gets it, those nerd fights over logic are the best part of hanging out.

That yelling about plot holes thing is so real. My friend's DnD group almost broke up over whether a dragon would really hoard books instead of gold.
