Spent $60 on a fancy study guide for our 'Wuthering Heights' meeting and it backfired
Our group in Charlotte was tackling the book and I thought a detailed analysis packet would help. It just gave everyone the same talking points and killed the natural debate we usually have. Has anyone found a better way to prep for a classic novel discussion without making it feel like homework?

Watched a friend's group just assign characters to argue as.

Used to be on Pat's side about this. Saw a group do it last week though. Totally killed the vibe, they were just going through the motions.

Is it really that big a deal though? They're just having fun with their friends. It's not like they're cheating on a test or something. It's a game, not a puzzle with one right answer. If they enjoy it that way, who cares? Seems like people are getting worked up over nothing.

Saw a group of five just roll dice to pick their characters. Nancy West is right, it's like paying to skip the fun part of a game.
