Why did it take me 3 weeks to figure out a simple character arc debate?
My book club spent an entire meeting arguing about whether the main character in 'The Dutch House' actually grew or just got tired, and after 3 weeks of re-reading chapters I realized we were all talking about different definitions of 'arc'. Has anyone else gotten stuck on a basic literary term that took forever to agree on?

Ugh YES, we had THREE meetings arguing if a character "changed" or just "reacted" before realizing the problem.
