Gave up my weekly spreads for a daily log setup and it's way less stressful

I started bullet journaling back in March with these detailed weekly spreads. Tracked everything from water intake to habit streaks. By June I was spending two hours every Sunday filling in boxes and grids. Then my pen ran out of ink halfway through a spread and I just snapped. Switched to a basic daily log with just a date and bullet points. No trackers, no colors, no wasted space. It takes me maybe 5 minutes a day now. Has anyone else found that simpler is actually better for staying consistent?

My friend had the exact same thing happen to her with her food journal. She was making these beautiful illustrated logs with watercolor fruits and vegetables, but after a week she just stopped because it was too much pressure to make it look perfect. She told me she just started using a plain spiral notebook and writing down what she ate without any decorations or colors. Now she says it actually helps her stay on track because she doesn't dread opening the notebook. Kinda makes you think about how fancy stuff can get in the way of just doing the thing.

@pat_harris i read somewhere that making things too pretty can actually kill motivation, totally tracks with your friend's experience lol

Ngl the real win is ditching the guilt that comes with a half-done pretty spread.
