Honestly thought the whole 'future log' thing was just extra work for no reason until my friend showed me her journal from last year and I saw she'd planned a trip to Denver six months ahead.

Tbh, I started one this January and it already saved me from double-booking a weekend in March, so has anyone else had a basic part of the system click for them way later than it should have?

Wait, you managed to get all the way to January without a future log? I'm honestly impressed! I thought everyone at least tried that part first, even if they gave up on it. My whole system would just fall apart without that page, it's where I dump every appointment and birthday as soon as I hear about it. The idea of just keeping it all in my head gives me anxiety just thinking about it!

Did you maybe start your bullet journal later in the year? I didn't make a future log either, but mostly because I began mine in March. It feels less needed when you're not planning from a full January start.

Mine was the monthly log. For ages I just did dailies and felt so scattered. Finally setting up a simple calendar page with tiny boxes for each day changed everything. Now I can see dentist appointments and work deadlines at a glance without flipping through a hundred pages.

My monthly log is just a grid of 31 tiny squares too, it's the only thing that keeps my brain from melting. I totally get what @luna261 means about the anxiety, I tried skipping the future log once and missed two birthdays. Never again.
