My 90-day streak felt like a failure, not a win

I kept a perfect 90-day bullet journal streak with daily mood tracking, water logs, and habit boxes, but when I flipped back to review it all I realized I was just filling boxes without actually changing anything. The tracker made me feel busy and productive, but my anxiety and sleep schedule stayed exactly the same, so I stopped using it completely. Has anyone else hit a big milestone number and then felt like the system was actually holding them back instead of helping?

Read a piece the other day about how trackers can become a substitute for actual change. The act of checking off boxes gives your brain a tiny hit of reward, so you keep doing it even though nothing in your real life moves. That's not on you, that's the design of those systems. They measure activity, not progress. Maybe the bullet journal worked fine for what it is, but you needed a different tool entirely. Sounds like you quit at the right time, before the whole thing became another chore to feel guilty about.
