My sister glanced at my spread and said it looked like a chore list, and she was right
I showed her my weekly layout at her kitchen table in Baltimore last month, feeling pretty proud of the little boxes I'd drawn for each day. She looked at it for maybe 5 seconds and said "this looks like something my boss hands me on a Friday, why would you do this to yourself." It stung, but she had a point, my spreads had turned into a to-do dump with zero room for anything I actually wanted to write down. So I stopped making a box for every task and started leaving one blank corner just for notes about my day, dumb stuff like what I ate or a song I heard. Now I actually open the thing past Tuesday, which never used to happen. Anyone else had a non-journaling person point out something obvious you couldn't see?
