My sister pointed out my bullet journal looked like a chore list and it kinda broke me
We were having coffee yesterday and she flipped through my March spread. She said, 'Dude, this looks like a punishment log, where's the fun stuff?' I realized every page was just tasks and deadlines, no trackers for books or doodles or anything. It hit different because she was right, I turned my creative outlet into a second boss. How do you guys balance planning with actually enjoying your journal?

Honestly, is it that deep? A bullet journal is just a tool. If a list of tasks gets stuff done for you, that's a win. Maybe your sister just has a different style.

Totally agree lol. My bullet journal is just messy lists and it works fine for me. Some people get way too into the fancy spreads.

Right? The whole point is to make your life easier, not to create a whole new art project that stresses you out. My first one was just a notebook full of crossed out tasks and it was the most useful thing ever. Sometimes the simple list method gets lost in all the pictures of perfect handwriting and watercolor doodles online. If it works, it works.
