Rant: Bought a $40 pen for my bullet journal and it was a total waste

I got a fancy fountain pen thinking it would make my spreads look amazing and motivate me to write more. The thing skipped constantly on my Leuchtturm paper and I spent more time cleaning ink off my hands than actually journaling. Has anyone found a good, cheap pen that doesn't bleed through 80gsm pages?

Ugh, that's so frustrating. Honestly, I've had way better luck with basic gel pens on that paper.

Tell me about it. I've wasted so many fancy pens on that exact same stuff. My last fountain pen just skipped and bled through like crazy. Switched to a cheap gel pen from the grocery store and it was smooth sailing, no smudging at all. It's wild how the simplest thing works best sometimes.

Used to believe you needed expensive pens for good results. Watching a fancy fountain pen fail on basic paper totally changed my mind. Sometimes the cheap stuff just works without any fuss.
