Shoutout to my friend who said my weekly spread looked like a 'to-do list graveyard'

She pointed out that I was using three different colors just to mark things as incomplete, which honestly made my whole system feel like a failure. I switched to a simple dot for anything that didn't get done and now migrate it without all the extra marks. Has anyone else simplified their signifiers after getting feedback?

Love how @drews55 would rebel, but your fix actually sounds kinder to yourself.

Your friend's graveyard comment would have just made me use more colors.

Sometimes the kindest rebellion is just choosing peace. Adding more colors can feel like fighting a battle someone else started. I'd rather spend that energy making something I actually like. Their comment says more about them than it does about my work.

Does your art feel more like yours when you keep it simple and skip the noise? I get that, honestly. Adding stuff for the sake of it just to prove a point sounds exhausting. You end up making something that doesn't even feel like you anymore.
