Comparing two contract drafts saved me from a lawsuit in Austin
I used to just copy-paste my old client agreement and tweak the names. Last month I finally sat down and compared my boilerplate with a lawyer friend's version for a $14,000 job. The difference was night and day, hers had clear payment milestones and a kill fee clause. Now I'm wondering how many of you have avoided a nightmare client just by fixing your paperwork first?
