Dropped $650 on a written contract template for my freelance gigs and it paid for itself in week two
One client tried to add a whole second round of revisions for free, and all I had to do was point to page 3 and they backed off. What's the cheapest thing you've bought that actually shut down a bad client?
Man, that's the thing people miss about template contracts. It's not just the paper, it's having something to point at so you stop being the bad guy. "Sorry, page 3 says two rounds of revisions included" hits way different than "I don't want to do more work for free." Cheapest version of that trick is just a written scope paragraph in your estimate email before you start. Client asks for extra, you forward your own email back and say "just checking this matches what we agreed." Costs nothing and it works every time.
