Lost $180 on a billing software that promised everything and delivered nothing
Signed up for this invoicing tool back in February because they swore it would auto-track expenses and send reminders. Three months later I'm still manually entering every receipt and clients say the payment links don't work half the time. Tried their support twice and got canned responses that didn't fix anything. Anyone else get burned by a tool that looked great in the demo but fell apart in real use?

honestly i had almost the exact same thing happen with some project management software last year. the demo was so slick and they showed all these automations that just never actually worked in real life. its like they build the demo specifically for the sales pitch and then the actual product is this buggy mess that cant do half of what they promised. i swear these companies just throw features at the wall without testing them and hope nobody notices until theyve got your money.

Wait, are you saying the demo was literally fake footage?

oh totally, i got burned the same way with this scheduling app last spring. they showed this beautiful calendar view where you could drag and drop tasks and it would automatically reschedule everything. in real life the drag and drop barely worked and half the time it would just duplicate tasks instead of moving them. i spent three hours trying to get it to do what they showed in that two minute video and finally just gave up and asked for my money back. it's like they filmed the demo on a totally different version of the software that just doesn't exist.
